LIVING RING
“Where the clean, modern lines of architecture Dance with the ever-changing rhythms of nature's flow.”
AI Architecture Project Exploring Nature, Light, and Spatial Flow
Living Ring is an AI-driven architecture project by Vojtek Morsztyn Studio, exploring how contemporary architecture can reconnect with nature through geometry, light, and movement. Conceived as a circular pavilion immersed in the surrounding landscape, the project shows how emerging AI design tools can reinterpret organic forms and translate them into emotionally resonant spaces.
At its core, Living Ring questions the traditional separation between interior and exterior. Instead of treating architecture as a static object, the design behaves as a continuous spatial experience that unfolds gradually through light, material transitions, and natural rhythms.
The concept is rooted in the idea of architecture as a living system. Rather than imposing rigid forms onto the landscape, the structure responds to its environment through soft curves, open courtyards, and layered circulation paths.
Using AI-assisted generative workflows, the studio explored multiple iterations of form, proportion, and spatial flow, allowing the design to evolve intuitively while balancing computational exploration with architectural intent. The result is a structure that feels organic yet precise, controlled yet fluid.
Circular geometry plays a central role, symbolizing continuity, balance, and movement. The ring-like configuration creates a protected inner world while remaining visually and physically connected to the surrounding landscape.
Concept & Design Approach
Nature is is an active design component in this project. Water, light, vegetation, and sky are integrated into the architecture to shape both atmosphere and experience.
A central reflective water feature anchors the project, acting as a visual and emotional core, with its presence introducing sound, movement, and reflection, reinforcing a sense of calm while subtly changing throughout the day. Surrounding decks and circulation paths hover above the water, encouraging slow movement and mindful engagement with space.
Large openings, circular courtyards, and skylights dissolve boundaries between inside and outside. allowing natural light to enter from above and from the perimeter, creating shifting patterns across surfaces.
Relationship Between Architecture and Nature
Interior spaces are organized as a continuous sequence rather than isolated rooms. Living, dining, and private areas flow into one another, unified by consistent material language and visual connections to the landscape.
Skylights were purposefully designed above key areas, including the living space and bedroom, to introduce vertical light that enhances spatial depth while maintaining privacy.
Material choices emphasize tactility and restraint, with a high prevalence os neutral tones, raw textures, and soft finishes to support a calm, grounded atmosphere, allowing light and nature to become the primary visual elements.
